With AI prompting, it's all about context
The quality of the answer depends on the clarity of the prompt. Your best prompt helper is the AI itself, e.g., ChatGPT, Claude or Grok. If you have a base prompt, ask the AI to help you improve it.
The chatbot is context-hungry. Without all the context it needs, it will hallucinate and fill in gaps. This leads to confident yet incorrect answers to your intended question.
In the example below, the user is trying to get a good form builder, but doesn't give the LLM all the requirements. The simple exchange illustrates the need to clarify subject matter, purpose, audience, tone, format, language, and relevant specifics, such as time period, output type or unit of measure.
User:
What’s a good form builder?
AI:
You could try Typeform—it’s modern, user-friendly, and great for interactive surveys.
User:
I meant something free.
AI:
In that case, Google Forms is free and easy to use.
User:
Right—but I also need it to integrate with Airtable and support conditional logic.
AI:
Got it. Then consider Tally or Fillout—they both offer free plans, support conditional logic, and have native Airtable integration.
User:
It’s for a nonprofit—so I need a clean design, no ads, and ideally something privacy-friendly.
AI:
Understood. Fillout is likely your best option: it offers clean branding, conditional logic, Airtable integration, and respects user privacy. It also has nonprofit-friendly pricing if you ever need to upgrade.
